Helping Celtic Sea Power explain complex GIS concepts and inspire more people to explore careers in renewable energy.

We worked with Celtic Sea Power to produce an educational animation introducing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and demonstrating their role in the future of offshore renewable energy. The animation supports Celtic Sea Power's training programme by explaining complex technical concepts in a clear, engaging way while encouraging learners across Cornwall to develop the skills needed for careers in the growing clean energy sector.

Geographic Information Systems are central to renewable energy planning, but the technology can be difficult to explain to people with little or no previous knowledge. Celtic Sea Power wanted an engaging introduction that would make the subject approachable while promoting their GIS training course to prospective learners across Cornwall.

GIS drives smarter decisions monitoring where to site wind turbines, mapping risk zones, natural obstacles and many other factors that have to be considered before placing. This course equips local Cornish learners with tools essential for shaping sustainable futures.We wanted to explain briefly what GIS does and how it's used in modern society for all sorts of planning and building. We then present the course and how Celtic Sea Power is helping people in the local Cornwall area gain skills needed to begin a career in the field.

We developed a storyboard that gradually introduces the role of GIS before demonstrating how it supports offshore wind planning. Friendly illustrations, clear visual examples and carefully paced animation help simplify technical information without losing accuracy. The animation then transitions into the training programme itself, showing how the course equips learners with practical skills for careers in renewable energy. The animation was designed to reflect Celtic Sea Power's existing brand identity, creating a consistent visual style across colours, typography and illustration. Clean graphics and uncluttered layouts help keep technical information accessible while maintaining a professional look that reflects the renewable energy sector.
